Teen critical after falling 15m from waterfall while trying to take photo

A teenage boy is fighting for his life after plunging more than 15 metres from the top of a waterfall while trying to take a photo.

The 15-year-old suffered serious pelvic, abdominal and chest injuries when he fell from the waterfall in the Blue Mountains around 6.00pm Saturday.

It took emergency services nearly 6 hours hours to winch him to safety, before he was airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
