A 16-YEAR-OLD boy is fighting for his life in hospital after being crushed by an excavator in Sydney.
The accident happened on a construction site on the city’s Upper North Shore shortly after 1pm on Friday.
The teen suffered horrific injuries after being run over by the excavator’s tracks on Koola Ave in East Killara.

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was dispatched to the scene and landed on a nearby sports oval.
Police rushed the CareFlight medical team to the construction site where they attempted to stabilise the teen.
A CareFlight spokesperson said the teen had suffered critical pelvic, abdominal and lower chest injuries.
He was transferred into an ambulance and rushed to the Royal North Shore Hospital.
The CareFlight doctor and intensive care paramedic continued to treat the teen in the ambulance.
Safe Work NSW has been notified and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
