Teen critically injured in horror accident on high ropes course

A TEENAGE boy has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition following a horror accident on a high-ropes activity course north of Brisbane.

It is believed to have happened at the Adventure Alternatives Outdoor Education Centre on Woodrow Road at Woodford, near Stanmore shortly before 10.30am on Wednesday.

It’s understood the boy was badly injured after becoming entangled in ropes on a high-ropes course.


He suffered life-threatening head and neck injuries and has been airlifted to Brisbane’s Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Adventure Alternatives is a popular school camp venue at Woodford, roughly 80km north of Brisbane.

According to its website, the centre “allows individuals to explore and discover aspects of their personal development through adventure based activities in a natural environment”.
