Teen facing attempted murder charge over Tweed stabbing attack

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder over an alleged stabbing attack in Tweed Heads yesterday.

Police were called to the fight near the intersection of Blundell Boulevard and Minjumbal Drive just after 1.00 pm.

They found a 16-year-old boy with injuries to his hand and shoulder, while a 17-year-old boy was arrested nearby with a hand injury.

Both the teens were taken to Tweed Heads Hospital for treatment.

Once the older boy was released, he was taken to the police station where he was charged with attempt to murder.

He was denied bail to front children’s court today.
