Teen fighting for life after horror crash in northern NSW

A teenager is fighting for life at the Gold Coast University Hospital, after a dirt bike and car crash in northern New South Wales.

The 16-year-old was travelling along Coomburra Crescent in Ocean Shores just after 4.00pm yesterday, when he collided with a ute on Warrambool Road.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where paramedics treated the teen briefly for life-threatening head and leg injuries before he was airlifted to hospital.

He’s believed to be in a serious condition, and is undergoing surgery.

The 35-year-old driver of the ute is assisting police with inquiries.

He has participated in mandatory testing.
