Teen fighting for life after horror crash at Batemans Bay

A 15-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after the car he was travelling in slammed into a tree at Batemans Bay last night.

Police said the 15-year-old was one of four teenagers travelling in the Subaru Forrester which left Rotary Drive and crashed into a tree around 7pm.

After the collision, it’s understood one of the teenagers phoned a relative who attended the scene and transported all four occupants to Batemans Bay Hospital.


A 15-year-old boy who police said was a passenger in the car sustained life-threatening injuries.

He was treated at Batemans Bay Hospital before being transferred to Canberra Hospital, where he remains this afternoon in a critical condition.

A second passenger, a 16-year-old female, sustained minor injuries. She was treated at Batemans Bay Hospital and later released.

The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male, and a third passenger, a 15-year-old female, escaped uninjured.

As investigations into the cause of the crash continue, police are urging witnesses to come forward.
