A teenage boy who was told he wouldn’t live to see his high school graduation, has defied the odds and given a touching and inspiring speech to his classmates on their graduation day.
Jake Bailey, 18, was told just a week before he gave the speech, that he would die within weeks if he didn’t receive immediate treatment for a rare form of cancer.
However Bailey proved them all wrong, turning up to his Christchurch Boy’s High School graduation assembly in New Zealand.

While in a wheelchair and holding back tears, Bailey went on to explain: “They told me I wouldn’t be here tonight to deliver that speech… But luckily, that speech isn’t about what’s to come,” he told his peers before delivering an extremely powerful and heart-wrenching speech that received a standing ovation and reduced the crowd to tears.
