Teen left fighting for life after falling out of high-rise window

A TEENAGER is in a coma, fighting for his life after falling several stories from an apartment building window in front of shocked friends in Sydney overnight.

Emergency services were called to reports of a person having fallen from the Meriton Suites on George Street in Parramatta around 12.45am on Saturday.

It’s understood the 18-year-old had fallen out of a window on the eleventh floor and landed on a lower section of the building’s roof, roughly 10 metres below.

Police, firefighters and paramedics worked for almost two hours to retrieve the teen, who had suffered significant head, leg and possible spinal injuries.

It’s understood crews were forced to climb eleven flights of stairs to reach the boy, as the lift in the serviced apartment building wasn’t working.

The teen was eventually carried back down the stairs on a stretcher before being rushed by ambulance to Westmead Hospital where he remained in a serious condition on Saturday.

It’s understood the teen has been placed in an induced coma to assist with his recovery.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
