Teen motorcyclist critically injured in high speed crash

A YOUNG man has suffered critical head injuries after crashing his motorcycle at high-speed in Sydney’s west.

The 18-year-old was riding along Hill End Road at Doonside when his motorcycle slammed into the side of a small sedan just before 4.30pm on Saturday.

A doctor and critical care paramedic were airlifted to the scene in the CareFlight rapid response rescue helicopter to treat the rider who suffered life-threatening head injuries.


The young man was sedated and intubated at the scene before being stretchered into an ambulance and rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The CareFlight medical team continued to treat the man in the back of the ambulance on the way to hospital.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dash cam footage of the moments leading up to the impact are being urged to come forward and contact police.
