Teen questioned over alarming threats on social media subjected to psych assessment
A TEENAGE boy questioned over a series of alarming social media posts that forced several Sydney schools into lockdown over the past week is set to undergo a psychological assessment.
The 17-year-old boy was questioned over the threatening messages after being taken into police custody on Thursday night.
The posts forced several schools into lockdown and sparked a major police operation involving the counter-terrorism squad.
Police say the teen will be subjected to a psychological assessment before any charges are laid.
Officers have taken the time to remind members of the public that it is an offence to post threatening, violence-inciting messages on social media sites.
