Teen runs from Police, breaks bones in leap from car park

A teenager has landed himself in hospital after attempting a dangerous stunt while running from Police in Robina.

The 19-year-old jumped from the fourth level of the Robina Town Centre car park on Saturday afternoon.

In a statement from Police, it explains officers “were called to a department store at a Robina shopping centre around 3.40pm in relation to the man”.

“Police located him a short distance from the department store and it will be alleged that when officers spoke to him and attempted to place him under arrest, he fled on foot.”

He then made the dangerous leap, apparently suffering a broken arm and ankle as he hit the ground, before continuing to try and get away.

He was found by police hiding nearby.

He received treatment at the scene before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with suspected broken arm and ankle as well as a cut to his head.
