A swimmer has been rushed to hospital after a near-drowning incident at a Gold Coast beach.
The male in his teens was pulled unconscious from the water off Main Beach around 6.00am on Wednesday.
Paramedics, including critical care and the High Acuity Response Unit, were called to the scene to treat the swimmer before transporting him to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The incident follows the drowning death of a Victorian tourist in a Gold Coast canal on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old went swimming with friends in Broadbeach in the early hours of the morning but failed to resurface, sparking a major search.
His body was found a few hours later.
Police are continuing to investigate his death.
