Teen rushed to hospital after near-drowning on Gold Coast

A teenage girl has been hospitalised after a near drowning on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

It’s understood she was swimming in waters near Marine Parade and the Gold Coast Highway in Southport when she came into trouble around 2.00pm.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC the teen is believed to have suffered a knock to the head.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A QAS spokesperson confirmed she was transported in a stable condition.
