Teen scooter rider suffers life-threatening head injuries in collision with car
A TEENAGE boy is in a critical condition after being hit by a car at Ipswich, west of Brisbane this morning.
The 16-year-old was riding a scooter when he collided with a car on Atlantic Drive at 11.15am, police said.
The teen suffered life-threatening head injuries and was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains this afternoon, in a critical condition.
Police were unable to immediately identify the boy and so made a public appeal for information.
They released a statement shortly before 2pm, confirming the teen has since been identified.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
