Teen undergoes surgery after being shot in the street

A TEENAGE boy is in hospital, undergoing surgery after being shot on a street in Sydney’s south west.

The 17-year-old was with friends when he was gunned down near the intersection of Woodhouse Drive and Jaggers Place at Ambarvale just after midnight.

Police said the teens were walking home after leaving a nearby party when the 17-year-old was shot.

The teen was taken to Campbelltown Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right upper arm, police said.

He has since been transferred to Liverpool Hospital where it is expected he will undergo surgery.

Police attended the hospital and spoke with the teen, who they say was unable to provide details of the incident.

Investigations into the shooting are continuing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
