Crews rescue person trapped under Melbourne train

UPDATE 2:17PM | EMERGENCY services have rescued a person trapped under a train at Flinders Station in Melbourne’s CBD.

The person was removed from beneath a Metro train and carried to an ambulance stretcher. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

Channel Seven reports the trapped person is a teenage girl, but police are yet to confirm the patient’s gender and age.

EARLIER: A TEENAGE girl is reportedly trapped underneath a train following a “serious accident” at a station in Melbourne.

The incident has occurred at Flinders Street station in the city’s CBD.

Emergency crews are attempting to rescue the teenage girl who, according to multiple reports, was struck by a train and is now trapped.

As a result, major delays are being experienced on multiple train lines.

Public access to platforms from the main concourse have been roped off while emergency services respond.
