Teenage boy charged over armed robbery at Gold Coast servo
A 16-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly robbing a service station on the Gold Coast earlier this week.
Queensland Police had been on the hunt for the offender after the incident at a Highland Park servo on Monday night.
He’s accused of entering the Alexander Drive business around 9pm while armed with a knife and standing behind the female worker as she stocked shelves.
The 27-year-old women became uncomfortable and ran into a secure back room.
The offender then jumped the counter and stole a stack of cigarettes from the cabinet before running off.
The 16-year-old has since been charged with armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was remanded in police custody to appear in Southport Children’s Court today.
