Teenage boy charged with murder after death of young woman at party

A TEENAGE boy has been charged with murder following the death of a young woman at a party in Melbourne’s CBD.

Laa Chol suffered serious injuries during an altercation at an apartment on A’Beckett Street early on Saturday morning.

Paramedics desperately worked to save the 19-year-old, but sadly, she could not be revived and died at the scene.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, police said a group of young people were partying in the short-stay apartment, which they had rented, when a second group turned up and a fight broke out.

Following investigations into the young woman’s death, police arrested a 17-year-old male on Monday afternoon.

He was charged with one count of murder and remanded in custody to appear at a Children’s Court today.
