Teenage boy stabbed in knife attack at wild party

NSW: A YOUNG boy is awaiting surgery in hospital after he was stabbed in the stomach during a fight at an out-of-control party in Sydney’s north-west last night.

Police say they were called to break up an altercation at a hall on Nelson Road at Box Hill just after midnight.

It’s understood around 100 people had gathered inside the hall for an underage party.

Police said a brawl broke out in the building, during which a teenage boy was stabbed in the stomach. His age is not known.

He was taken to Blacktown Hospital by his friends. Police said he is in a stable condition awaiting surgery.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested at the scene. He is currently assisting investigators with their inquiries.

Police said the Public Order Riot Squad was called in to assist in shutting down the party.

The hall was declared a crime scene which was examined by forensic officers overnight.

Investigations into the stabbing are continuing.
