Teenage boy stabbed to death at junior basketball game

A teenager has been questioned but released following the stabbing death of a 17-year-old boy at a basketball game in Melbourne’s west.

Police were called to a sporting complex on Ballan Road at Werribee just before 6.00pm last night following reports a teen had been injured.

Upon arrival, they found the 17-year-old suffering life-threatening stab wounds.

He was rushed to hospital, where he sadly passed away a short time later.

A 15-year-old boy was taken in for questioning but has since been released from custody.
