Teenage pushbike rider dies in hospital days after being hit by car at Logan

A TEENAGE boy has died in hospital, three days after being hit by a car at Waterford West.

The 16-year-old was hit at the intersection of Kingston and Chambers Flat roads on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the boy was riding his pushbike across the intersection when he was struck by a ute.

The teenager was rushed to the Princes Alexandra Hospital where he remained in a critical condition for three nights.

Sadly, police confirmed he succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Saturday morning.

The 19-year-old man behind the wheel of the ute and his 20-year-old male passenger were not injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or motorists with dash-cam footage to contact police.

The boy collided with a ute on Wednesday afternoon as he attempted to cross a Kingston Road intersection at Waterford West.

He died in the Princess Alexandria Hospital on Saturday morning.

The 19-year-old male driver and his male passenger, 20, were not injured in the collision.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for any witnesses or people who have relevant dashcam footage.
