Teenager allegedly involved in machete attack expected to apply for bail
A teenager who allegedly took part in a machete attack in Coombabah is expected to apply for bail.
18-year-old Thomas Peter Ealam is charged with two counts of acts intended to maim, and one count of unlawfully possessing stolen items following the incident outside a home on Saturday morning.
Ealam and Clint Darryl Hall, are accused of using machetes to attack a couple that had confronted them outside their home.
Ingrid Thomas, suffered a severe cut to her face in the incident and had to undergo surgery at Gold Coast University Hospital.
Her partner, 34-year-old Matthew Liddell, suffered a cut to his forearm.
Ealam didn’t appear in court on Monday when his case was adjourned.
35-year-old Hall made no application for bail and his case has been adjourned until September 12.
