Teens accused of holding a man hostage in Queensland bush

THREE people, including a 16-year-old girl, have been charged with holding a man hostage on the Sunshine Coast and threatening his life.

The 19-year-old alleged victim told Police he was restrained at a campsite in bushland on Eenie Creek at Noosaville for two days, where he was repeatedly assaulted.

He managed to escape around 5am on March 10 and stumbled to the road where he flagged down a member of the public.

He was taken to Noosa Hospital and treated for injuries to his face, arms, legs and feet.

Following investigations, Police charged three people with a raft of offences.

A 16-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man have both been charged with deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning bodily harm.

While a 48-year-old man has been charged with deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing tainted property.

Both the men will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court.
