Teen’s body found in NSW river

The body of a teenage boy, who vanished whilst swimming in the Macquarie River at Dubbo, has been found.

Police said that around 3.00pm yesterday, emergency services were called to Bunglegumbie Road, following reports that a 16-year-old boy had gone missing in the river.

Officers searched for the teen, however he could not be located.

A search was then co-ordinated by police and members of the Volunteer Rescue Association who located the boy’s body in the water around 8.15pm.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
