Teens charged after trying to hold up Burleigh Waters adult store

Two teenagers have been charged after allegedly trying to hold up a Burleigh Waters adult store while armed with a baton.

Police will allege the two 16-year-old boy’s stormed the Reedy Creek business around 11.20pm on Thursday and demanded cash from the male employee.

It’s understood one of the teenagers was armed with a baton and tried to swing and hit the staffer.

The 26-year-old employee managed to dodge the weapon and the baton instead hit a computer, knocking it to the ground.

The pair then damaged property in the store before running off.

The dog squad was quickly called in and police were able to find the duo in a nearby skate park.

The two Varsity Lakes boys have been charged with attempted armed robbery.
