Joy-riding students flip ute in Gold Coast park
A GROUP of joy-riding high school kids are lucky to have escaped serious injury after they flipped a ute at high speed in a suburban Gold Coast park today.
Five senior students from Helensvale High were crammed inside the four-door ute when it rolled off Mildura Drive just before 11am.
Nine News reported the group was thought to be “hooning” at high speed when the vehicle hit a bump and flipped.
It came to a crashing halt on its side in a local park – miraculously no one was hurt.
All five students were given a stern talking to by police and it’s understood charges could yet be laid.
