Teens terrified at Lake Macquarie

A man is accused of terrifying a couple of teenagers in Lake Macquarie.

The 31-year-old allegedly walked into the backyard of a home on Anzac Parade, Toronto and up to the back door at 4:30pm on Wednesday.  He told the teens inside to let him in.

They refused, so he grabbed an axe from the side of the property, before returning to the back door, smashing the glass, and walking inside.

A 19-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy in the house called police who headed out and arrested the man at the front of the home.

The teenagers weren’t hurt.

The man was taken to Toronto Police Station, where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, destroy/damage property, and larceny.

He was refused bail, to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday.

It has also been confirmed that the teenagers didn’t know the man.
