Teen’s throat slashed open in horror motorbike crash

A TEENAGE boy had to be airlifted to hospital on Wednesday after his throat was slashed open in a horror motorbike accident in Central Queensland.

The accident occurred in the rural community of Lonesome Creek, around 200 kilometres south of Rockhampton, around 11.30am.

It’s understood the teen was riding a motorbike when he lost control and collided with a fence.

An ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics arrived at the scene to find the boy suffering from a laceration to his neck.

He was stabilised at the scene before being airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital for treatment.

Ambulance officers said the teen was flown in a stable condition and was placed on a spinal board as a precaution.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are continuing.
