Tell him he’s dreaming: Owner wants to demolish ‘Castle’ house

There are calls for the house featured in cult Australian film The Castle to be heritage-listed, with a Melbourne council set to vote on the property’s fate.

The owner of 3 Dagonet Street in Strathmore plans to demolish the post-war house to build two town houses.

But Moonee Valley City Council has commissioned an external report into the property, suggesting it holds social and historical heritage significance.
