Temps set to soar above 30C on the Gold Coast

TEMPERATURES are expected to peak above 30 degrees in some parts of the Gold Coast today, before a cooler southerly wind change sweeps up the coast in the afternoon.

Suburbs west of the M1 are tipped to hit 32C, with a sea breeze set to stop the mercury from reaching 30C along the beach.

Temps will drop once the southerly wind change moves through after midday, and will remain in the mid 20s tomorrow.

Partly cloudy, cooler conditions will prevail for the rest of the week, with temps on the increase as we move into the weekend.

Very little rainfall – no more than one millimetre to be exact – is expected with the southerly change.
