Thai masseur jailed and deported for sexual assault

A Thai masseur, working in Brisbane, has been jailed over the sexual assault of 16 female customers.

Pongsakorn Mekingrailas appeared in Brisbane District Court this morning, where he plead guilty to 18 counts of sexual assault.

The court heard the 34-year-old touched 10 women’s genitals, either on top or underneath their underwear.

He also massaged one woman’s nipples and cupped another’s breasts, and moved women’s legs during massages to expose their genitals.

Mekingrailas has been sentenced to three years jail, suspended after four months.

He’ll be deported after he serves his jail time.

Judge Vicki Loury QC said he’d violated these vulnerable women in an appalling way.

The court also heard that Mekingrailas moved to Australia in 2010 with his ex-wife, and spent more than a year in immigration detention.
