The future of the Gold Coast Show has been decided

Gold Coasters will be happy to know that the Gold Coast Show will go ahead this year, after majority of City of Gold Coast Councillors voted for keeping the annual family event.

At a Council Meeting on Friday, it was decided the show would be moved from the current location of the Turf Club in Bundall to the Broadwater Parklands in 2018.

It’s understood the show will be on a smaller scale this year and be branded as more of a ‘pop-up’ show.

During the Council meeting on Friday, Mayor Tate said the Gold Coast Show will likely expand into a larger event in 2019 with Doug Jennings Park at The Spit considered as a possible location.

The Gold Coast show had previously been held at Parklands in Southport, however the Government ended the show’s tenure in 2013 for construction of the GC2018 Athletes’ Village.
