Local motorists are being reminded of a number of traffic changes on our roads this weekend due to the highly anticipated Gold Coast Show.
The much-loved family event kicks off this Friday and goes until Sunday September 1, with more than 50,000 people expected to walk through the doors.
Police have been working with organisers to ensure there’s minimum disruption to traffic, however we’re still being urged to allow extra travel time.

Anyone driving near the Broadwater Parklands in Southport over the three days is being warned they may experience possible delays and congestion due to the traffic changes.
North and Southbound lanes between Welch Street and the Sundale Bridge will be reduced to 40km/hr along the Gold Coast Highway.
Police say Broadwater Parklands internal roads and access to Mitchell Park, on Marine Parade, opposite end of North Street, will also experience disruptions.
As well as the minor traffic changes, pet owners are being reminded of the Gold Coast Show’s fireworks displays.
They’re expected to go off at 8.00pm on Friday and Saturday, and again at 7.00pm on Sunday – with pet parents urged to ensure their pooches are in a safe and comfortable environment to avoid being spooked by the loud bangs.
