The Gold Coast’s Movie World has unveiled a brand-new precinct, dedicated to a beloved classic film.
A Wizard of Oz precinct will feature two new family-friendly rides and an immersive experience, surrounding the iconic yellow brick road.
The $40-milliion dollar precinct will serve as Movie World’s first major addition to the park in five years.

The world-first area will be designed for the whole family and will feature a suspended coaster, a racing coaster and immersive theming.
The Suspended Family Coaster is a 454-metre track as high as 19 metres and reaching speeds of nearly 70km/h.
While the Family Boomerang Racer will have two 220-metre racing tracks that’ll hit 60km/h.
Movie World promises it’ll be an experience like no other, with thematic elements including projection mapping, stunning sculptures and facades as you travel along the yellow brick road.
Locals already know “there’s no place like home” but the attractions will serve as a much-needed boost to the interstate and international tourists flocking back to the city post-covid.
Get your ruby slippers ready, the area is set to open to the public in 2024.
