Third teen charged over brutal assault of boy following soccer match
A third teen has been charged following investigations into a brawl and assault of a boy at the completion of a soccer match at South Granville last weekend.
A 17-year-old boy suffered a fractured jaw when he was allegedly assaulted by two boys during a brawl following a match that was played at Ray Marshall Reserve on Sunday 27 September 2015.
Following further investigations, a third teen was identified as being allegedly involved in the brawl and assaulting another player.
About 8.50pm yesterday, detectives from Rosehill Local Area Command attended a home in Bexley and arrested a 16-year-old boy.
He was taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged with affray.
The boy was granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Monday 2 November 2015.
