“This process will not be rushed” Titans remain tight lipped on new coach

The Gold Coast Titans have stressed that they’re not rushing into naming their new head coach, despite reports Justin Holbrook has won the top job.

In a statement released overnight, Gold Coast Titans Executive Chairman Dennis Watt said there’s been no announcement on the club’s Head Coach for 2020 as an official agreement has not yet been made.

“This is an important decision in the history of the Titans, and right from the start we have said that the Club will take its time and go through the proper process before the Club decides upon a candidate, and that decision is shared with our Members, fans, sponsors and the media,” Watt said.

“This process will not be rushed. The Club has been very thorough in its assessment and due diligence performed on each candidate to ensure the person who best fits the Club’s strategic plan is chosen as Titans Head Coach.

Mr Watt said the club will inform all stakeholders when a decision and agreement has been reached.

It’s understood an announcement may be made as early as today.

It comes amid reports English Super League coach Justin Holbrook has snagged the position after Garth Brennan was sacked from the job earlier this month due to the team’s poor performance.
