Thousands of commuters face delays after Brisbane bus strike

Brisbane commuters are facing heavy delays as bus drivers strike this morning.

All services, including school buses, will be affected until about 7:30am, with flow-on delays expected throughout the rest of the day.

The same action is being taken on Wednesday morning in the Eagle Farm, Carina, Toowong and Garden City areas.

The strike will leave up to 35,000 workers and school students stranded.

The Union says the strike is due to an ongoing dispute about pay, safety and conditions.

A key issue in the dispute is the safety of drivers, particularity after the fatal attack on driver Manmeet Alisher last year.
