Thousands of Chinese delegates set to party in Surfers Paradise

More than 6000 Chinese business delegates are set to descend on Surfers Paradise foreshore for three huge street parties on May 9, 13 and 17.

From tomorrow, thousands of Infinitus China top-selling performers will begin arriving on the Gold Coast, staying for two weeks as part of the company’s incentive program.

Delegates will enjoy the coastal and cultural offerings, as well as three dedicated street-parties showcasing local products and live entertainment.

Destination Gold Coast CEO Martin Winter said the business event is estimated to inject $40 million in direct and indirect expenditure for the region.

“Our theme parks, attractions and local offerings form the basis of the delegates experience and what a better way than to be rewarded by cuddling a koala or learning to surf, topped off with a huge party,” said Mr Winter.

DGC worked with Surfers Paradise Alliance and the City of Gold Coast to ensure local traders maximised the opportunity.

“We pitched the idea of creating a party and wanting to involve local businesses and representatives from the community including Queensland Police, Surf Lifesavers and Study Gold Coast to come together and give these visitors an unforgettable Gold Coast experience,” he said.

“Delegates are largely staying in accommodation in and around the Surfers Paradise so all traders in the precinct are expected to receive significant benefit.”
