Three 14yos charged over stolen car chase, Pimpama

Three 14-year-old’s have been charged over an alleged stolen car chase on the Gold Coast overnight.

A Mercedes CLA250 was taken from a home in North Lakes on Tuesday before it was spotted along Yawalpah Road last night.

There were reports that someone in the vehicle was waving a fake gun around.


PolAir it tracked the car and deployed a tyre deflation device near the Old Pacific Highway before it came to a stop on Rifle Range Road.

Four teens are believed to have fled the vehicle on foot, and the dog squad eventually tracked them down. A toy guy was found in the vehicle.

A group of offenders were arrested, and three have since been charged.

“A 14-year-old girl has been charged with 2 x unlawful use of a motor vehicle,” a police spokesperson said.

“A 14- year-old boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence Never held licence type 2 vehicle related offence.

“Both have been refused police bail and will appear in court.

“Police investigations are continuing with the other 14-year-old girl.”
