Three arrested after ATM user robbed at knife-point on the Gold Coast

THREE men have been arrested after robbing a man at knife-point while he was using an ATM at a Gold Coast shopping centre in the early hours of the morning.

The victim was using the machine at a Brisbane Road centre in Biggera Waters around 12.50am when he was approached by another man who pulled out a knife and demanded money.

The 48-year-old complied and handed over some cash before the armed man fled in a car.

Queensland Police have since revealed the armed thief was travelling in a stolen white Mazda 3 sedan, which had been taken from a property Urraween on May 9.

A short time later, officers tried to pull the vehicle over on service road at exit 45 at Ormeau when it struck the police vehicle and accelerated away.

The car was finally located a few hours later in the Moreton Bay region.

Three men have since been arrested and are being questioned by police.

No charges have been laid at this stage.
