Three arrested, terror plot foiled in Sydney

Three people have been arrested in Sydney after authorities foiled a suspected terror plot.

A joint operation involving the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and New South Wales Police has been conducting counter terror raids in various Sydney suburbs this morning.

There were 6 raids carried out in the city’s west and south-west, resulting in the arrest of three men – all aged in their 20s.

One is 20-years-old, one is 23-years-old, and the other is 29-years-old.

All three have been arrested and taken to the Bankstown Police Station, where charges are yet to be laid.

It’s understood they’ll be charged with planning a terror attack and having links to Islamic State.

The AFP says that there is no immediate threat to the community as a result of the raids or arrests.
