Three charged over gunpoint carjacking in Logan

Three people have been charged after gunpoint carjacking in Logan on Sunday.

It’s alleged a 27-year-old man was sitting in his parked car at Logan Central around 2.20am when he was approached by a group of men who threatened him with a gun and demanded he hand over his car keys and phone.

The victim got out of the car and ran off before the men drove away in his car.


Police found the car crashed in Sylvania Street, Woodridge around an hour later.

The trio were then tracked down by a police dog nearby a short time later and taken in to custody.

A 19-year-old Kingston man and a 26-year-old Logan Central man have since been charged with armed robbery in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and deprivation of liberty.

They are due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
