Three charged over major drug haul in Surfers Paradise

POLICE have charged three people, including a former President of the Lone Wolves bikie gang, over a $25,000 drug bust in Surfers Paradise.

On Thursday, officers from Taskforce Maxima executed a search warrant at a property in Surfers and allegedly located a large stash of drugs including methylamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA, liquid fantasy and prescription medication.

It’s estimated the haul was worth $25,525.

Police also seized $5,540 in cash.

A 42-year-old man, identified as a former President of the Lone Wolves OMCG, as well as a 26-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman have been charged with a total of 28 offences including trafficking dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs (above schedule), possess proceeds and possessing tainted property.

All three will appear in Southport Magistrate Court today.

“This is a great result from a group of dedicated officers determined to make the Gold Coast Community a safer place,” Acting Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said.
