Three children charged over armed robbery of NSW servo

Three children have been charged with robbing a service station in the Illawarra armed with knives.

The youngsters, aged just 13, 14 and 14, were arrested at a home on Northcliffe Drive this morning.

Police say the trio are accused of entering the servo on Winnama Way at Berkeley just before 1.00am and threatening the attendant.

“The boys have allegedly threatened the employee with one of the boys striking the employee with the butt of a knife,” police said in a statement.

They then ran from the store with cash and cigarettes.

All three have since been charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and are due to appear before a children’s court later today.
