Three explosive mail packages found at transport hubs in London

A major counter terrorism investigation is underway after three packages were found at various locations around London.

Three small mail bombs were located at Heathrow Airport, London City Airport and Waterloo train station, and are all believed to be linked.

It’s believed that if any of the packages were to explode, they would start a small fire.

Two of the packages reportedly had Irish stamps on them.

Ireland police are now helping their British colleagues investigate the incident.

Flights have been unaffected by the discovery of the packages, though it’s believed a light rail line between London City and central London was temporarily suspend.

UK police say they are keeping an open mind about the potential motives of the attack, as investigations continue.

The United Kingdom has been placed on its second highest level of terrorism alert.

Security services say it’s highly likely they could see an attack by international terrorists.
