THREE people have been left fighting for their lives in hospital following a horror knife attack at a house in Victoria’s Gippsland region.
Police were called to the McDonald Street home in the town of Morwell, 150km east of Melbourne, about 3.30am on Wednesday.
There, officers allegedly found a 54-year-old man stabbing himself with a knife after he’d allegedly stabbed his 57-year-old partner and their 35-year-old neighbour.

It’s alleged the 35-year-old woman had earlier rescued her neighbour from a domestic violence situation and was sheltering her in her unit at the time of the attack.
That’s when police allege the man forced entry into his neighbour’s unit and started stabbing the women.
Officers stormed the building and were forced to Taser the man to stop him from stabbing himself.
Both women were airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in critical conditions, while the man was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Police said the 57-year-old woman had sustained multiple life-threatening stab wounds to her upper body, while the 35-year-old had critical chest injuries.
They are believed to now be in a serious but stable condition.
The man was arrested and remains under police guard in hospital with serious self-inflicted stab wounds.
La Trobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
