Three Gold Coast teens charged over series of break and enters

THREE teenagers have been taken into custody after a dramatic arrest on the Gold Coast.

Police were called to Sundowner Court in Mermaid Waters just before 2am after getting reports about people acting suspiciously in the street.

Officers cordoned off the area and called in the dog squad to track down the offenders, who had allegedly been breaking into a number of homes and cars in the area.

The three teenage boys, aged 13, 15 and 17, were eventually arrested.

During the incident, the 13-year-old boy sustained a minor bite to his knee from a police dog and was taken to hospital for further treatment.

The trio have since been charged with enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

All three are due to appear in the Southport Children’s Court.

Police investigations are ongoing.
