Three hospitalised after fiery head-on crash in Gold Coast hinterland

Three people have been hospitalised after a horror crash in the Gold Coast Hinterland last night.

Emergency services were called to Tamborine Oxenford Road in Wongawallan around 8.00 pm, following reports of the incident.

On arrival, it appeared two cars had collided head-on, with two people suffering serious injuries.

A man in his 70s suffered significant leg and abdominal injuries, according to paramedics.

While a woman in her 20s suffered serious chest and abdominal injuries.

A third person – a man in his 20s – suffered minor chest injuries and was transported to hospital in stable conditions with spinal precautions.

All three were rushed to hospital where they’re understood to be in stable conditions.

It’s understood one of the cars had caught fire as a result of the crash, with firefighters also called to the scene.
