Three hurt after crane collapses onto Sydney apartment building

A CRANE has collapsed onto an apartment building in Sydney’s south, injuring at least three people.

The incident happened at a building site off Brodie Spark Drive at Wolli Creek on Sunday morning.

The crane toppled just after 9.30am, falling from one building and landing on a second.

The huge steel structure smashed into a three bedroom penthouse, causing significant structural damage.

Paramedics assessed and treated three people at the scene for minor injuries.

In a statement released a short time ago, police confirmed no one was inside the crane at the time.

Two buildings have been evacuated and an exclusion zone has been established around the site.

Road closures are also in place, with police urging motorists to avoid the area.
