Three hurt in separate weekend stabbings

POLICE are investigating three separate stabbings on the Gold Coast at the weekend which left three people in hospital.

On Saturday night, police were called to the Harbour Town shopping centre car park after a shopkeeper was stabbed by a disgruntled customer.

Police said the employee became involved in an argument with a customer before he was punched and stabbed in the torso.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

A few hours later, police were called to an address on Currumburra Road at Ashmore following reports that a man had been glassed.

Police said initial investigations indicated that a planned meeting between two Asian men had turned sour and a flurry of punches were thrown before one of the men struck the other with a glass bottle.

The victim was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to multiple arm lacerations.

Meanwhile, a man had to be rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital early yesterday morning after he was stabbed multiple times with what appeared to be a screwdriver at the Q1 Resort and Spa in Surfers Paradise.

Police investigations into all three incidents are continuing, however the Q1 victim is reportedly refusing to co-operate with the authorities.
